The DaVinci Gnostic Code

Finally getting around to reading The DaVinci Code. Certain reviewers were right: it is a fictional introduction to, and overview of, gnosticism, complete with sex rites in worship of the "sacred feminine."

Why I reject the gnostic version of the gospel: a religion is identified by what it makes ultimate, or divine; and gnosticism make some aspect of the created order divine. It "divinizes" a concept, not a person. On the non-gnostic view, there is no "sacred feminine" or "sacred masculine". Masculine and feminine are attributes of creations of God; but God, despite use of masculine pronouns, is neither feminine nor masculine, being the creator of masculine and feminine.
